Yannis Karpouzis (1984) is an Athens-based filmmaker and visual artist. In 2016, he co-funded the production collective Empty Square. His feature documentary “Poems on the Tape Recorder” (2021) got the Newcomer Filmmaker Award at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. Since 2025 he is an alumnus of Berlinale and Sarajevo Talents (Pack & Pitch award). His projects explore political identities, time travel, and melancholy.
