Rabih Mroué
"Rabih Mroué was born in Beirut and lives in Berlin. Actor, director, visual artist and playwright, he has written and directed several plays, including Looking for a missing employee (2003), Who’s afraid of representation (2005), The pixelated revolution (2012), So little time (2016), Sunny Sunday (2020) Hartaqāt (2023), Four walls and a roof (2024) in collaboration with Lina Majdalanie. His work, at the crossroads of theater, performance and visual arts, blurs the boundaries between reality and fiction, using videos, photographs and historical documents to challenge the hegemony of archives. Rabih Mroué is co-founder of the Beirut Art Center (BAC) and was a member of the International Research Center: Interweaving Performance Cultures, Freie Universitat in Berlin in 2013-2015."
A reproduction of an American leaflet is mistakenly taken for a bomb threat at an exhibition by Rabih Mroué. In his lecture-performance, he reflects on the unstable relationship between images, politics and reality.
