Esther van der Heijden
Esther van der Heijden (NL, 1993) is a multimedia artist and filmmaker whose practice spans film, sculpture, installation, and performance-essay. Her work explores how environmental and economic pressures shape ecosystems and the human and non-human lives that depend on them. Focusing on specific places, species, and communities, she examines how these pressures unfold across ecological and social contexts. Her practice combines historical material, fieldwork, and associative, poetic forms of image-making.
